My Cat Care Resources & Favorite Things We Love
Creating Better Life Quality for Cats—and Ourselves
It’s Not Just About Them—It’s About Us
This cat care page is a collection of everything that has truly helped me care for my cats — the things we love, the products that make everyday life easier, and the resources I trust.
But over time, I realized something important…

overseeing our Cat Care Resources Page
Taking care of my cats also means taking care of myself.
Because the more calm, balanced, and present I am, the more they feel it too.
Everything you see here on this cat care resource page is something I personally use, truly love, or would recommend to a fellow cat mom without hesitation — for both our cats and ourselves.
Some of the cat care product links on this page are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This helps me continue caring for my kitties, supporting animals in need, and creating more content for Diary of a Cat Mom.
What My Cats Truly Love (Tested & Approved)
These are the cat care things my cats naturally gravitate toward — not because I bought them, but because they choose them again and again.
1. Cat Treats
My cats are completely drawn to the smell of this stew. The moment I open a pouch, they come running — and they will even try to lick the spoon.
I use this when:
- I want to give them a special reward
- nothing else seems appealing and they don’t want to eat
- they’re not feeling well and only have a little energy
This cat care product has been especially helpful during those moments when I just want to make sure they get something into their system.
I recommend the 12-count pack stew because the individual pouches last a long time and it’s more cost-effective than buying them separately.
Out of all the treats I’ve tried, this is the only one that every single one of my cats consistently loves.
They go crazy for the smell — and even just one or two pieces is enough to shift their mood.
I use this when:
- I want to lift their mood if they feel scared or unsettled
- there’s tension or fighting, and I want to redirect their focus
- something has thrown off their balance and they need a reset
It’s one of the easiest ways I’ve found to bring them back into a calmer, happier state.
I recommend the 16 oz. treats tub because it lasts a long time and gives you the best value.
Both are something I always keep in the house — especially for those unpredictable days.

My Favorite Cat Care Products (That Make Life Easier)
These are the cat care products that don’t just help my cats — they make my life as a cat mom more calm, clean, and manageable.
1. Feeding
In my early days as a cat mom, I made the mistake of feeding just one type of food — and my cats refused anything else when it wasn’t available.
So I changed my approach.
Now I offer a “Swedish smorgasbord” — a mix of wet and dry food in one meal. This keeps them flexible and prevents food dependency.
I also include a high-quality dry food with real chicken. It’s pricier, but all of my cats love it every time.
In my multi-cat home, especially in the mornings, this makes feeding simple — everyone gets the same food at the same time, which keeps things calm and prevents tension.
Below is a mix of what I regularly order as subscription:
I don’t rely on just one product — I rely on the combination.
2. Multi-Cat Litter & Ultra-Large Litter Mat
In a multi-cat household, finding a litter that works for all cats is not easy. I wanted something low-dust, not overly scented, and comfortable for my cats — especially those with respiratory sensitivities.
After testing many options, this is what works best for us.
This litter has minimal dust and scent, and when purchased in a 40 lb box, it’s affordable.
- Arm & Hammer Litter Multi-Cat Strength Clean Burst Clumping Litter (40 lb)
A reliable option that helps manage odor while still being practical for daily use in a multi-cat home.
I tested many cat litter mats, and this one works best. It traps litter effectively without spreading it further and doesn’t start smelling quickly.
It makes cleaning the litter area much easier.
3. Grooming
As prevention, I brush all my cats at least once a week. It gives me a chance to check for changes, fleas, or sensitivities, and it helps them get used to being handled.
- Hartz Groomer’s Best Flea Comb for Dogs and Cats
This is the best comb I’ve found. It’s durable, fine enough to catch fleas, and doesn’t lose teeth easily.
4. Toys
My cats love catnip toys they can kick and throw around. After trying different ones, I noticed they prefer toys that are tightly filled and durable.
- Catnip Toy (Yellow Banana)
Each of my cats has one. They love playing with it and marking it with their scent.
5. Health
- Cone Collar,Cute Waterproof Cat Recovery Collar,Anti-Bite Lick Wound Healing Safety Elizabethan e Collar for Cats collar
I highly recommend this for any cat that needs healing support.
My cats — and I — love this collar. It’s soft and sits gently around the neck in a flower shape, with flexible “petals” that make it comfortable instead of restrictive.
In the past, after surgeries or injuries, my cats had to wear hard plastic cones, which made everything difficult.
This soft collar changed that completely.
Mama Cat once had an infected abscess and had been wearing a hard cone for weeks. She was miserable — bumping into furniture and struggling to eat.
When I switched to this soft collar, the first thing she did was lie down and use it as a pillow.
She fell asleep almost immediately.
You could feel the difference — she was finally comfortable.
6. Traveling
My cats and I love this cat carrier! Awesome front and top loading, helps to minimize anxiety and creates peace and calmness. I set up the cat carrier like a little hideaway. With pee pad, soft towel, cuddly blanket, and toys filled with catnip! Makes traveling and vet visits so much more enjoyable, for the cats and the cat mom too!
- Petmate Airline-Approved Small Dog & Cat Carrier, Top & Front Loading, for cats and small dogs 0-15 lbs, Made in USA, 24″, Blue
7. Outdoor Shelter
I love being outside with my indoor cats, on the porch or in the backyard, and watching nature! When feral cats stop by for a visit or look for safety during bad weather, I offer them shelter, food, & love. Here are the products my cats love that I have used to create better life quality for them outside.
- ShelterLogic 8′ x 10′ x 5′ Small Round Livestock & Shade Shelter Kit
Perfect to create an outer shelter for the feral cat houses or compartments. - 2-Story Wooden Outdoor/Indoor Luxurious Cat Shelter House Condo with Transparent PVC Canopy 6012-0509EY (Grey)
Nice outdoor cat house, quality is ok for the price, for the indoor cats to play outside. - ColourTree 12′ x 12′ x 12′ Brown Triangle Waterproof Sun Shade Sail UPF50 Canopy Awning Shelter, 95% UV Blockage Water Resistant
It creates awesome shade for the cats to relax under on hot days. - EZ-Straw® Just Straw Clean Processed Straw – Small Bale (1 Cubic Foot)
Feels soft, perfect to fill outdoor cat houses and inner wooden compartments with it. The cats love laying in it! - Cat Bed Sleeping Cat Hammock, 16.9in x 16.9in x 9.5in, Grey
Great product to put on top on top of a wooden cat house or a covered outdoor cat shelter. The outdoor cats still can see everything, hop out of the hammock anytime, but also feel hidden and covered. My outdoor cats love it!
These Cat Care Products Help with Sneezing, Running Eyes & Easier Breathing
I often have a cat sneezing or dealing with runny eyes. For some of my cats, this comes and goes — but for Snow White, it’s a chronic upper respiratory condition.
To help keep her stable, I use a standard nebulizer with a cat inhaler spacer so she can breathe in the treatment more effectively.
More recently, I also found a nebulizer specifically designed for pets, which makes the process even easier.
These are the tools I have used:
- Cat Nebulizer for Breathing Problems
They’ve made a noticeable difference in helping my cats breathe more comfortably and feel more at ease.
Always check with your veterinarian before starting any treatment, especially for ongoing respiratory issues.
Natural Remedies for Cats
These are natural remedies I use to support immune system, urinary health, and overall wellbeing.
Always check with your veterinarian before starting any treatment.
Jackson Galaxy Cat Solutions I Use
Not everything works for every cat — this is what worked in my home.
Over time, I’ve tried different solutions to help manage stress, behavior, and harmony in my multi-cat home. These are the ones I’ve personally used and how they worked for my cats.
- Safe Space for Cats
I used this for Whiny Wilford to help him feel more secure in his territory and build confidence, alongside reassuring him verbally.
While it didn’t make a noticeable difference for spraying or scratching in my home, it did help create a calmer atmosphere overall and reduced tension between my cats.
- Bully Solution
I applied this to shared spaces like cat trees, stairs, shelves, and other vertical areas.
It helped reduce dominant behavior and minimized bullying. The overall energy in the space became calmer, and my cats seemed more relaxed around each other.
Always check with your veterinarian before starting any treatment.
- EX Stain & Odor Eliminator
I’m especially grateful for this cleaner.
Unlike many others, it doesn’t have a strong chemical smell that can trigger headaches or migraines for me. At the same time, it effectively removes urine odor, which is essential in a multi-cat household.
- Pet Urine Remover Refill Tablets
A practical option I use for ongoing cleaning. It helps keep things simple while maintaining a fresh and clean environment.
Rest & Relaxation
For my senior cats and those who like to suckle, I wanted something that provides warmth and comfort.
- Self Heating Cat Pad Self Warming Bed
After testing many options, this is the only one all my cats consistently use.
What Helps Me Stay Calm, Grounded, and Present
Caring for my cats has shown me how much my own state of being matters.
The more calm and balanced I feel, the more peaceful my cats become.
So I’ve learned to support my own wellbeing too — through simple rituals, products, and routines that help me stay grounded.
These are not luxuries.
They are part of how I care for my cats.
1. Simple Daily Rituals
These help regulate my energy — especially in a busy multi-cat household.

- Herbal teas for hydration and inflammation support

3. Weight-Lifting Exercises
- Weighted Hula Hoop, ACU Hoop 3L – 3.3 lb Large, Weight Loss Fitness Workout Sports Hoop with ridges. (Rainbow Colors)
I love hula hooping. The benefit of using a weighted hula hoop is seeing the results so much faster and experiencing how the weight shapes the waist nicely over time. The pants fit much better and it also helps me personally with my digestive system.
- Basics Neoprene Dumbbell Hand Weights for Exercise and Muscle Toning
As a beginner, I started with 2lb to get into a rhythm and routine with it. After a while, I could see how my arm muscles became visible and lifting the cat food bags and cat litter containers became much easier. I am using 3lb weights now and this is the weight that holds my muscles strong but also makes it fun to do.
3. Books That Changed Me And Helped Me Grow
- “The Power of Now” – Eckhart Tolle
Helped me understand presence — something cats naturally live by.
- “Supercommunicators: How to Unlock the Secret Language of Connection” – Charles Duhigg
Taught me how communication and connection shape a peaceful life.
- Catify to Satisfy: Simple Solutions for Creating a Cat-Friendly Home
I love this book because it offers practical ideas that are easy to implement and budget-friendly.
Between working and caring for my cats, I need solutions that don’t require a lot of time or take away from the costs of food, litter, medical care, or other essentials.
This book helped me create a more cat-friendly environment in simple ways — without overcomplicating things.
- Total Cat Mojo: The Ultimate Guide to Life with Your Cat
I was drawn to the word mojo — it represents joy, fun, and connection, which is exactly what I want to experience with my cats.
When I first became a cat mom, I had a very naive idea of what it would be like… a cat sitting on my lap, sunbathing, always eating well, always in the mood to cuddle.
Lol… now I know better.
Living with cats is so much deeper than that.
They each have their own personalities, needs, and emotions. This book helped me understand that — and showed me how to care for each of my cats in a way that truly fits who they are.
It helped me move from expectations… to understanding.
These books didn’t just teach me about cats — they changed how I see them.
